Job Summary: We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Laborers to join our team, specializing in roofing and tuckpointing projects. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and eager to learn, supporting our skilled craftsmen in all aspects of job site operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic construction environment.
Responsibilities:
Job Site Preparation:
Assist in setting up and tearing down job sites, including erecting scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Prepare work areas by cleaning, sweeping, and removing debris.
Roofing Support: Assist with the removal of old roofing materials (shingles, felt, etc.).
Help with the installation of new roofing materials, underlayment, and flashing under direct supervision.
Carry and hoist materials to the roof.
Clean gutters and downspouts.
Tuckpointing Support: Assist in the removal of old mortar joints using hand tools or power tools under supervision.
Help prepare new mortar mixtures.
Assist with the application of new mortar, ensuring clean and consistent joints.
Clean masonry surfaces.
Perform general cleanup of job sites, including sweeping, debris removal, and proper waste disposal.
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently as directed.
Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Prior experience in construction, roofing, masonry, or general labor preferred, but not required. We are willing to train motivated individuals.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials (up to 75 lbs) required for males
Ability to work at heights on roofs, scaffolding, and ladders.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb for extended periods.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Skills & Attributes: Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Reliable and punctual.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
Basic understanding of safety practices in a construction environment.
Willingness to learn and take direction.
Optional: Valid driver's license/State ID and reliable transportation preferred
