Alternative Investment Financial Analyst

AOG Wealth Management is a private wealth RIA firm in the Reston, VA area and advisor to the AOG Institutional Fund (AOGFX).

As an Alternative Investment Analyst, you will be joining the investment team of AOGFX, a 1940 Act interval fund focused on illiquid alternative investments.

Responsibilities and job functions will be primarily dedicated to collaborating with and supporting the Portfolio Manager in running both the existing portfolio and future investment pipeline. This includes conducting investment research and due diligence, as well as a variety of operational and reporting requirements.

We invest primarily in private and other non-public institutional alternative investments. These include, but are not limited to: private equity and venture capital, private debt and credit, real estate and real estate-related investments. We consider both investments in externally managed funds as well as direct investments in both private debt and equity.

The ideal candidate will have experience working at/with a family office, endowment, pension or other institutional investment management firm.

Note: A more senior role is available within the organization for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a variety of ongoing Fund calculations and analysis

- Performance reporting and data aggregation- Performance attribution- Valuation of investments- Liquidity tracking and management

  • Investment research and due diligence of new potential investments
  • Provide necessary documentation and data dissemination for the Valuation Committee and Investment Committee
  • Manage and maintain ongoing due diligence needs for existing alternative investments, including participating in update calls and meetings
  • Building and maintaining financial models
  • Generate analytics and reporting materials for Board of Directors meetings
  • Generate monthly and quarterly fund Fact Sheets and other materials
  • Assist in reporting for various regulatory filings and requirements
  • Participate in various team meetings and ad hoc projects IDEAL CANDIDATE

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in investment research or related field preference for experience with illiquid/non-public institutional alternative investments
  • Experience conducting investment/manager due diligence and research
  • Familiarity with financial and investing calculations and metrics
  • CFA designation or CFA II/III candidate preferred, not required

Supplemental Pay:

  • Base $75k - $125k
  • Plus discretionary bonuses based on experience
